Train Table

Chalk board train table with storage.
My kids have been collecting trains for 10 years and every Christmas Santa brings something to add to the collection.  I've been wanting to make a table to store it all for a long time and it finally made it to the top of the "never-ending project list". We (the super amazing hubby and I) drew up plans and redesigned a lot and finally came up with a table big enough to fit all the trains and small enough to fit in the toy room (it turned out to be about 4 x 7 feet with 8 cubbies underneath).  We finished our just in time for Christmas.  It was A LOT bigger project than I had planned.  It turned out great and the kids love the chalk board top.
One end has pockets to hold an eraser and chalk.

My Sweethearts and Why I'm lucky

Here is a fun little wood craft I made for Valentine's Day. It is made from a 2x4. I Cut 4 squares 3 1/2 inches long and one length 7 inches long. Then I modge podged scrapbook paper on the fronts and tops. To get the lettering, I used Microsoft word and I just ran some scrapbook paper thru the printer.
I'm a big fan of duel holiday crafts, so I did a St. Patrick's Day theme on the backside.

Autumn Sign

I cut the wood to do this project over a year ago. I finally pulled it out and finished it just in time for the 1st day of fall.

Happy Autumn Everyone!

4th of July Flag

I made this wood flag out of 2x4s. So easy and super cute (I still need to add the ribbon though, it ties around the whole thing with a bow on top)

Easter Craft

I've had this Easter craft on my to-do list for a while. I finally got around to it earlier this week. I started by cutting blocks out of scrap wood, different heights and widths. I printed the egg letters on scrapbook paper, then modge podged them on the wood blocks and later glued on some ribbon. For the egg I used scrapbook paper, ribbon and some chipboard letters.

a shelf for Jared

A year and a half ago when we painted Jared's room I had plans to build a shelf too. Here it is, finally finished.
